Still Alive

Wed Feb 25, 2009, 7:43 PM
...Good Song...

Been incredibly buisy over the past couple months and I recently returned from England so I'm suffering from moderate jet lag. As of the moment, I'm juggling between job, car, and school so I'm really in a a ruffled state as of now.

As for school, I'm looking at attending a course in industrial design at the Uni of San Francisco, Uni of Washington, and another college offering the course in montreal, CA. My dream is to land a design job with Nissan (Hense Cali) but at the moment, I'm scraping of the pizzabox findings that are my funds. In any case, it's something I'm seriously looking into.

Car: Still not on the roads yet. I recently sent the front disc brakes off to be steamed and I replaced those only to find that the entire front brake line assembly to the car was a bodge it job. Also, the baffle plate to the fuel tank had come loose, so I had to replace the fuel tank with an Ebay bargain find that was fedexed to me from Arizona. The car should be running by the Spring and I'll try taking a dignifying photo to put up when the time comes around. My girlfriend has ended up with a Berlina 1750 which is in complete albeit rustic condition. My friend Josh also got his hands on a '67 AMC Rambler with a V-8 which looks like some fun to ramble with...

Other Stuff: I should be posting up some more pics when I can get the time to do it and as always, concepts and ideas are welcome to those who read this far in the journal. Besides that, time will only tell when I update this place yet...

McQueen

Fri Oct 31, 2008, 8:42 PM
Been away lately. Been very busy lately regarding uni and I'm finally out of point blank for projects and presentations. Theoretically, I'm supposed to be going to some party my friends arranged and at the current moment I look as tired as David Thewlis as Remus Lupin and look like him too. I'm actually planning to go as Max Zorin, after I shave, the bond baddie from "A View To A Kill." It also happens he was played by Christopher Walken which is hilarious from any Perspective. If you haven't seen it, don't. It's not the best film out there to be honest and should onlly be sen if you enjoy Walken. I strongly reccoment Quantum of Solice or Goldfinger instead.

Anyway, I should sort of be back online, skimming in and out of view like some sort of spy plane and pics will slowly surface here and there. I always say this all the time like some beggar, but ideas for pics are more than welcome. Just send me a note with details. I really don't mind at all ( as long as the request is within reason).

Also, I was given an Itouch which is the most amazing little device I've ever beared witness to. All I do is sit in the corner of a room and fiddle with it like some emo kid. Wi-Fi connection is always a hassle though, and the internet is slow in busy areas. Nonetheless, I have two episodes of TopGear, a Warren Miller ski film, and all of my music, folded neatly into one conveniant little space. I'm on cloud 9.

Snow season starts soon. I'm eager to go up into the Cascades and get alot of hours on the slopes. Can't wait! :D

Also, I carved my pumpkin up as Steve McQueen, hence the random title. It's the most accurate thing I've ever stabbed with cooking knives...

Topless Fairlady

Wed Jun 18, 2008, 8:57 PM
Okay, so alot of things have happened lately. Some good, some bad, but all of them have really flipped my life.
So, first off, I've sold the 240z. My friend Taylor is moving to Idaho and since I needed some money for my apartment and school, so I sold a few things to him for school money. One of these "few" things was my Z, so I was depressed recently over the loss of a truely wonderful car. I know Taylor will take good care of it mainly because he was really into Datsun's so he was really the only person I could trust to sell the car to. So then, I was carless (if that's a proper word) for about a week. This is when good things started to happen :w00t:.

-School ended for the summer so I am profusely happy.

-Second, a gloomy dead tree finally toppled over in front of my kitchen window (on the third floor of the building) so now I have a spectacular view of seattle and sunlight finally shines through every morning making me very happy *Yay!*.

-Then about a week ago while aimlessly looking on craigs list, [link] I stumbled upon a 1969 Datsun Fairlady Roadster for a VERY reasonable price. Twin SU carbs, original 2 litre engine with just about no real change except the color (Azure Blue with white racing stripes). It does need some care especially some cracks in the paint, a new convertible top, new battery, new steering wheel, reliable electronics, grease clearup, seatbelts, spare wheel, new headlamps, working lights, syched carbs, new choke and brake cables, somewhat sanitary interior (which is custom from 1970), oh and some rust bubbles.. I'll be restoring her up to peak condition over the summer and she'll be the envy of all who look upon her!!! lol.

My friend Grant has already given the car a name. According to him, and now my entire circle of aquaintences and friends, refer to her as 'Jenny'. This is not related to my OC, but mostly to Forest Gump. (if no see movie you are dead to civilised world!)

Anyway, it's better than Topless Fairlady, Topless Jenny, Jenny the Topless Fairlady, or any other name relating to women's bodies. :hmm:

I'll be getting some more pics up soon and even a few of photo's Jenny's "topless" condition :D

-Oh, and my girlfriend and I went with some mates to see Flight of the Conchords at Marymoor Park the other week. It was amazing!

Birthday, April 24

Thu Apr 24, 2008, 2:09 PM
Woo! Now it's another year older.

Well, it is my birthday. (I'm not a fan of countdowns) Don't really expect much. Maybe my girlfriend and friends might do something but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I've requested a new scanner printer actually, seeming my sister stole my old one for "work" purposes, and I'll probably recieve a few other gifts I demanded in the past month. Sorry if my work here has been "choppy". I apologize to :iconsanone: who has been very patient during these irritating scannerless times. I have quite a few things I want to upload. If anyone is interested in tipping me any ideas, trades, whatever, (I mention this in every journal) I'm happy to ablidge! :) (appropriate though. T_T )
Ta Ta for now...

PS: New icon Thomas Dolby. I was rummaging through my friends CD collection and found some very retro cd's and cassettes. Very retro but really cool B) I haven't heard Dolby in years, and now I think I'm obsessed with 80's new wave music :p

Of Sturgeons and Snowspeeders

Fri Feb 1, 2008, 7:51 PM
You may be wondering why the hell I've changed my dev icon thing. (probably not ^^; ) But I have a very strange tail behind it. You see my friends, a lot of strange things have happened at my school and now everyone including people I have never spoken to are calling me the same name. Which happens to be Wedge. It's not a bad thing I guess, just a little odd. But it's really strange how alot of people call me Wedge when I have never even acknowleged their existence. It all started when in my biology class, our professor brought in a large model of what I recall to be a cross-section Sturgeon. Upon it's unveiling to my peers and I, I exclaimed "Look at the size of that thing!" to recognize to the class that I believed it to be rather large. Our Professor, who's surname was Jones, responded to my exclamation by remarking "Thank you very much Wedge Antilles." (Star Wars Quote) in which then all of the nerds were in spasms of laughter. In that time, a hydrogen bomb of gossip probably flooded through the campus and now I'm stuck with the name. I guess it's really bugged me because I'm telling you all this but yeah, I guess thats it. Though I find it strange that just a stupid remark from a teacher has influenced how people look at me and it's just a tad strange to me. Though no ones using it towards me in a bad way and many of the girls think it's "cute" B-) So really I guess it's okay.

As for work on here, I don't know quite yet so I'll wait for one of my inspirational moments come to ,e. If any one wants to give me any ideas as to what I should work on would be much appreciated. Even the odd comment would be kind (feep sigh)
As for that, that's that.

Look what I can do!!!
